NATION’S PRIDE”. To commemorate this occasion India issued this coin for general circulation ON 5 th
March, 1979. Out of the other 3 coins issued on the same there, the 10 paise coin was issued for
general circulation and the 10 rupees coins were issues as uncirculated/ proof specimens.
OBSERVE: The observe of this coin represents Happy Children in Home. The award type of design
represents in the coin represents a matter of child. If Child is Happy, It’s a Nation’s Pride. This coin is
issued in 1979 to celebrate International year of the child. The legend “HAPPY CHILD – NATION’S
PRIDE” in English is inscribed on the bottom half of the periphery and “Baccho Ki Muskaan- Rashtra Ki
Shaan”, in Hindi around the top half of the periphery.
REVERSE: The reverse of this coin shows the Ashokan lion and the value ‘10’ on the center. In
English “INDIA” and “PAISE” appear on the right side and in Hindi “Bharat” and “Paise”
appear on the left side.
