

2014 - JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU, 125TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY
COMMEMORATION:-
Jawaharlal Nehru was a great freedom fighter in India’s struggle for freedom. He was also the
first Prime minister of India from 1947 to 1964.
To commemorate his 125th Birth Anniversary, this 5 rupees coin was issued on 14th November
2014, the Children’s Day. The other coin issued in the denomination of 125 rupees is only issued
for inclusion in proof / UNC sets.
REVERSE:-The Reverse face of the coins bear the image of Jawaharlal Nehru in the centre,
with the inscription “Jawaharlal Nehru ki 125 wi Jayanti” in Devnagri script on the upper
periphery, “125TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF JAWAHARLAL NEHRU” in English on the
lower periphery, The period “1889-2014″ is inscribed below the image of Jawaharlal Nehru.
OBSERVE --. The top portion contains words “Bharat” in Hindi and "INDIA" in English, The
bottom portion shows "Rupaye" in Hindi and "RUPEES" in English.The center portion bears the
“Lion capitol” of Ashok Pillar with the legend “Satyameva Jayate” in Hindi inscribed below, the
prominent International numeral “5” indicates the denomination.
