Yoga is a 5000 - year old physical, mental and spiritual practice, having its origin in India, which

proposed by Mr. Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India) during his speech at the United
Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27 2014. In his UN address, he suggested the
date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere ans shares special
significance in many parts of the world.

On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared June 21st
as the International Day of Yoga or commonly refered to as Yoga Day. This Yoga day is
celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015. The first International day of Yoga
