

2015 - BHEL’S GOLDEN JUBILEE COMMEMORATION:-
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) owned by the Government of India, is a power plant
equipment manufacturer and operates as engineering and manufacturing company based in New
Delhi, India. Established in 1964, BHEL is India's largest engineering and manufacturing
company of its kind. The company has been earning profits continuously since 1971-72 and
paying dividends uninterruptedly since 1976-77.
It has been granted the prestigious Maharatna (big gem) status in 2013 by Govt of India for its
outstanding performance
On 7th January 2015, commemorative coins of Rs.50 and Rs.5 denomination have been issued
by Govt. of India on the occasion of BHEL’s Golden Jubilee.

REVERSE:- This face of the coin bears the logo of “GOLDEN JUBILEE OF BHEL” in the
centre, with inscription “Abhijantriki Utkrustata ke Pachas " in Devnagri script on upper
periphery and the lower periphery bears the inscription “50 YEARS OF ENGINEERING
EXCELLENCE” in English, and the year’s figure “1964-2014” is written below the logo in
international numerals.
OBSERVE --. The top portion contains words “Bharat” in Hindi and "INDIA" in English, The
bottom portion shows "Rupaye" in Hindi and "RUPEES" in English.The center portion bears the
“Lion capitol” of Ashok Pillar with the legend “Satyameva Jayate” in Hindi inscribed below, the
prominent International numeral “5” indicates the denomination.
